September 10th is the 36th Teachers’ Day in China, and October 5th is the International Teachers’ Day, which is also the festival of the global Shenmo teachers.

President Li Mianjun sent a letter to Shenmo people around the world, and the Teachers’ Day celebrations at Shenmo headquarters and Shenmo schools across China are being held simultaneously.

We collected the voice from 15 Shenmo teachers. The 15 teachers come from 13 countries or regions including Burundi, Tanzania, Nigeria, Rwanda, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Nepal, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China and Ningxia, China. Their speeches represent the aspirations of tens of thousands of Shenmo teachers around the world, and every speech is worth reading with heart.

Shenmo teachers, educate people with heart and love, spread hope, and cultivate talents for the future. We’ll pursue and keep the original intention, educate students and fulfill ourselves. Happy Teachers’ Day to all Shenmo people!

Speeches from Burundi, Tanzania, Nigeria, Rwanda, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal and Iran:

1. Violette from Burundi

Meeting an inspiring teacher is an accident of fate that can change a life. Being a teacher is extremely important, to teach is to bring the student to use his reason and faculty which allows him to rise from the particularity to the universality. It is thus to make him accede to the discipline which the citizenship supposes.
A teacher is that person who must be honest, caring, loving, because if students feel that their teacher genuinely cares about their progress, they will be more motivated and learn better.
A teacher must stimulate students curiosity so that their desire to know is stronger than their fear of making mistakes. The teacher must have such a deep level of knowledge in his field that he must be able to understand why the students make certain mistakes. This requires extensive specialization, as well as the possibility of refreshing one's knowledge from time to time.
He must be passionate about his area of expertise, know and master his subject matter and know how to make it loved. The best teacher is the one who fascinates his students. To make students want to learn, the teacher must help and know how to explain in different ways, must certainly be someone dynamic and a good communicator, must know how to be respected without being authoritarian but by respecting his students and having the conviction that he can help them progress and succeed and should not make a difference between the students.
That’s the wisdom of a teacher!

2. Coleta Kaitaba Calist from Tanzania
A teacher is a person who helps students to acquire knowledge and skills about different aspects of life which helps a lot in shaping their lives positively. A teacher can see the mistakes of the students and help them on the best way, so the students can use those mistakes as a motivation factor to excellence. Teachers encourage the students to use their skills and knowledge for the betterment of their communities and the world at large.
Teachers play various roles into the lives of their students apart from their primary role of imparting knowledge and skills. A teacher can be a friend, a guardian, an encourager, a leader, an adviser, a role model, a motivation force and an inspiration factor to the students. Teachers have an ability of bringing out the best out of their students by turning their weaknesses into strengths. Teachers’ are their students’ first cheerleaders.

3. Deborah Woruka from Nigeria
We are all born into this world with abilities that need expressions. From birth our curiosity springs into action, because of the need to express our inborn abilities. As babies we cry for attention. As toddlers, we move and scatter things to see what we can achieve with our hands. As kids we do everything: the good, bad, and sometimes the ugly, just to express what is on the inside of us that we really cannot explain. Unless someone comes to our aid, we cannot really navigate life on our own.
To help us understand who we are, what we can do, and who we can become we need help. We need someone who will, patiently and lovingly, help us navigate our journey through life. Someone who will help us identify our inborn abilities. Someone who will help us develop those abilities into skills. Someone who will help us see how those skills can help us serve our communities and make us live a purposeful life. That someone is WHO A TEACHER IS.

4. Josiane from Rwanda
I am a teacher, and it's who I am. It's my passion, my calling and my world.
Dear teachers let's be an instrument of inspiration, because the influence of good teacher will never be erased.
Let's remember that every child in our class is someone's whole world.
We are not just teachers, we are the managers of the world's greatest resource.
Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today.
Remember that it's the teacher that makes the difference not the classroom.
HAPPY TEACHERS DAY ALL!

5. Meerjan Kanatbekova from Kyrgyzstan
Being a teacher is an amazing job and experience, because teacher bridges gaps and builds relationships, friendships, and a community. Especially working with kids of age 5-13 are so good. Kids are so pure and innocent. They have diverse and imaginative dreams. They say what they think directly. During the lesson we play different kind of interesting games, I put music while they are practicing mental math, sometimes we draw or sing a song. And of course in the middle of the lesson we make exercises. I am so happy that I am helping to shape their future even if a little.

6. Sunita Shrestha from Nepal
Hello ! Everyone, I am Sunita Shrestha from Nepal. I am working as teacher from 2 years ago but I am teaching abacus from 9 months ago. Teaching is really challenging job and also a noble profession. This is the job which can change the life of children. So, to take the masses from the darkness to light, from ignorance to knowledge, from illiteracy to literacy is really big task.
I used to entertain the children between class so they don’t feel boring and also to make concentrate I used to ask questions and and tell them some interesting jokes and stories in between. I love this profession so I choose it . I really proud to be a teacher and I want to wish all the teachers around the world.
Happy Teacher’s Day !!

7. Niki Mojtabaie from Iran
Let me start by saying that I believe that teaching is the noblest profession all over the world.
While teaching, I feel good and happy when my students understand the key points of my lectures. When my students are not truly satisfied with the content of my teaching, I tell them that on the next class, I will explain to them what I have missed in the current lecture. I am not afraid of telling my students that there could be some occasions where I don't know. Indeed, there is always an unknown to be known.
I make use of the active methods, not the traditional or conservative ones, and appeal to due technology when it is appropriate.
The best teacher teach from their heart, not from their book.
Teaching is one of the profession that creates all professions. thank you for helping me to become the person I am today. A teacher nourishes the soul of the child for a life time. A teacher presents the past, reveals the present, and creates the future. The best teachers don’t give you the answer, but they spark within you the desire to find the answer yourself.
Happy Teachers’ Day to all of us.
