“Praise educator because of his school” & “praise school because of its educator”

Today, we will use a new perspective to look into our own stage of growth--“praise educator because of his school” or “praise school because of its educator”.
 
If “educator is praised because of his school”, the educator's honor increases as the position of his school rises. If “school is praised because of its educator”, it indicates that the development of the school has ushered in a new level because of the ability of its educators.
 
We will analyze the different stages of development represented by “educator is praised because of his school” and “school is praised because of its educator” with the theory of “tool, skills, method, principle, and law”.
 
Actually, all Shenmo principals, supervisors and teachers will experience a stage in which they will be praised because of Shenmo. When someone has just taken up the cause of education, either by running a new school or stepping up to the podium, he will experience a process from being anonymous to being respected. This process is achieved by learning the mature system of school running of Shenmo.
 
First of all, educators must reach the level of “tool”. For teachers, they should learn to teach a good lesson with the help of teaching tools. For managers, they should be able to organize teams, train teachers, and perform some routine management projects. They can learn mature experiences and methods directly from the training for teachers and meetings.
 
Secondly, level of skills--teachers should learn to control the classroom and ensure the quality of teaching, so that students can truly master what is taught; as for managers, they should be able to use their own management experience to solve problems flexibly. By perfecting oneself in “skills” of one’s own position, and with the combination of learning and “practicing with the real event”, one can make constant progress with the school as the carrier.

The final stage of “educator is praised because of his school” is “method”. In this stage, teachers are able to digest and absorb all teaching methods and self-experiences. They can constantly bring forth new student-oriented ideas from the old, arouse children's interests, and teach through lively activities. For managers, they can operate a team or run a school thoroughly, which means that they have summarized a set of management thought and framework that help them respond quickly and effectively according to the current situation. At this time, individuals gradually become known and respected because of their growth thanks to the school’s development.
 
But we should notice that when we talk about a principal, a supervisor or a teacher of Shenmo, what we actually talk about is the school, the team or the course group behind him. In these stages, educators are actually the embodiment of the school’s performance, culture and spirit. In other words, the educator is honored because of the development of his school.
 
After some time, the educator's growth will encounter a bottleneck. Previously, the growth of educators was led by “Shenmo school”, a mature organization. However, with the scale development and further improvement of school, the whole set of the general system formed previously can no longer cover all aspects of the school's differentiated development. At this time, if the school wants to develop further, it needs to count on its educators' growth and self-inspection, which will drive the school to another level.
 
The underlying reason is that educators must develop from “tool, skills, and method” to “principle and law”.
 
Take the level “principle” for example. To reach this level, educators need to put down their immediate achievements, reflect on themselves, stay awakened, and get out of the shackles of “skills” and “method”. They need to go deep into meditation to get their own thoughts and wisdom. This process involves many difficulties, but it’s also full of the joy of growth. This is an important step for educators to break through from “being led by the school” to “leading the school by themselves”, from learning the existing system theory to thinking and exploring the path that suits the development of the school and their own.
 
We can refer to some examples of “school is praised because of its educator“: Cai Yuanpei had brought “Free-thinking” and “Open-minded” to Peking University; Chen Jiageng had brought “patriotism” and “unity” to Xiamen University; Zhang Boling had given Nankai University the “aesthetic education”...we can always see one or many figures behind every well-known school, deeply affecting their successors and promoting the school’s position with their individual charm.
 
To realize this, managers (especially principals) are expected to be entreprenant and diligent, striving to strengthen their mind to achieve mental growth. With their ingenious spirit as lessons, the school will gradually gain the soil to grow bigger trees. To realize its centurial development goals, Shenmo needs more excellent managers to make its branch schools honored.
