The 14th Shenmo International Abacus Mental Math Teachers’ Training Came to a Successful Close

The 14th Shenmo International Abacus Mental Math Teachers’ Training was successfully held from May 15 to May 22 in Linyi, Shandong and 11 teachers from Iran, Rwanda and Tanzania took part in the training. The teacher training is not only the study of the abacus mental math and the course operations, but also a cultural journey.
The international teacher’s training is mainly based on the abacus; content includes the abacus mental math system, teaching skills, teaching management and operations management; the training was held in forms of knowledge instruction and model class demonstration by trainers, class preparation and trail class presentation by participating teachers, visit to and study of diversified curriculum competitions including abacus and mental math, finally visit to local abacus campus.

This teachers' training carries out diversified cultural studies on the basis of abacus. It includes visit to the Shenmo Abacus Museum, study of Shenmo Education culture and Chinese culture, culture presentation of Iran, Rwanda and Tanzania, and Principal Li's lecture "the law of algorithm". Teachers also visited the former residence of Xizhi Wang, the sage of calligraphy, learning about the essence of another Chinese culture.
During the training, Mianjun Li, the founder of Shenmo, had an in-depth discussion with the representatives of Iranian school on cooperation issues. The two parties signed the cooperation contract and reached the cooperation intentions in Turkey, Armenia, Ukraine, Scotland, Azerbaijan and Georgia. On the other hand, Shenmo Education signed an agreement on cooperation intentions with Rwanda and Tanzania’s teachers subsequently to lay the foundation for future collaboration.
